San Diego isn’t just America’s Finest City — it’s also the wildest! "San Diego: America’s Wildest City" is a beautiful hour-long TV special that will air on PBS NATURE on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. An abridged, 40-minute version of this film will debut in The Nat’s giant screen theater starting Nov. 22, and run for the next seven years!

San Diego Humane Society was honored to be part of this film, with a special segment about squirrels being filmed at our Pilar & Chuck Bahde Wildlife Center. By building a custom set that prevented unnecessary human interaction, the Days Edge Production team was able to capture an accurate look at the underground life of ground squirrels while they were being rehabilitated by our Project Wildlife team.

Limited tickets are available for the premiere screening at The Nat on Nov. 22, including a panel with the filmmakers at Day’s Edge Productions and a nature expert from The Nat.
