Join us for an introspective death awareness experience that will take you through the last months of your life as you prepare for death and have to say goodbye to loved ones, possessions, personal goals and dreams, and daily activities that bring you joy.
Our guided meditative experience walks you through the last months of your life where you'll need to prioritize what is truly important to you and then come face to face with saying goodbye to the people, places and things that bring meaning to your everyday life.
Once you've said your final goodbye, our end-of-life doulas will tend to your body as our ancestors did by wrapping you in a burial shroud where you'll be able to contemplate the experience of death in a safe, protective cocoon.
Agenda:
7 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Welcome & introductions
7:15 p.m. - 8 p.m. Guided personal death awareness experience
8 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Each person will be prepared for burial in their own personal shroud
8:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. De-shroud, debrief & discussion
What to bring:
Yoga mat, blanket and small pillow (yoga mats & blankets are available to borrow)
Journal & pen
Full or queen sized flat sheet for shrouding (or, purchase at event for an additional $20)
It's a spiritual practice to place oneself on the threshold of death and participate in your own dying process so that you may live each day and each moment as a gift.
This event is hosted by Penny Waugh and Tara Novak, End-of-Life guides based in San Diego.
