The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Friends of the Coronado Public Library and the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library's Winn Room.

Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

Wednesday, August 7 at 6 p.m. - “The Cassandra Cat (When the Cat Comes)” (1963, G, 104 min) Eye-popping, surrealistic and subversive. A traveling circus and it’s magical, sunglasses-wearing feline mascot arrive in a provincial Czech town and expose the virtues, vices and desires of its unruly inhabitants. Czech with English subtitles.
