One Book, One San Diego Virtual Author Event with Carole Lindstrom

Free

Please join KPBS and our partners for a special live virtual event with Carole Lindstrom, author of our 2022 One Book, One San Diego children's selection, "We Are Water Protectors."

A 2021 winner of the Caldecott Medal and a #1 New York Times Bestseller, “We Are Water Protectors'' written by Carole Lindstrom and illustrated by Michaela Goade, is inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America. Written directly in response to the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, the book tells the story of an Ojibwe girl who fights against an oil pipeline in an effort to protect the water supply of her people. It issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earth’s water from harm and corruption.

THIS EVENT IS VIRTUAL AND FREE - RSVP NOW. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook. Links will be provided in your confirmation email and event reminders. No other registration is required.

One Book, One San Diego is a partnership, led by KPBS, with the San Diego Public Library, the San Diego County Library, San Diego State University, One Book Sin Fronteras and more than 30 others. For more information about One Book, One San Diego, please visit: kpbs.org/onebook
