Coinneach MacLeod, otherwise known as the TikTok sensation The Hebridean Baker (with 16 million video views and counting!) will be in San Diego on Wednesday, May 11 for a 6:30 p.m. book signing event at Diesel Bookstore – Del Mar (12843 El Camino Real Suite 104) to celebrate his debut cookbook, "The Hebridean Baker: Recipes and Wee Stories from the Scottish Islands."

This is so much more than a cookbook. In addition to 70 rustic, old family favorites and classic recipes from his home on the Isle of Lewis, the most northerly of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, MacLeod shares stories about the islands, and their culture, language, traditions and legends.

You can view the cookbook here.

Recipes include:

  • His Aunt Bellag’s clootie dumpling recipe and the secret ingredient (pgs. 22-23)
  • His recipe for Scots Flummery, which according to legend, Flora MacDonald was haVlfway through a dish of when she was arrested for her part in helping Bonnie Prince Charlie escape following his defeat at Colluden in 1746 (pgs. 64-65)
  • His recipe for Whiskey Tiramasu – the authentic Italian dessert gets a Scottish twist, by replacing the sweet Marsala wine with a dram of whiskey (pgs. 196-197)
