San Diego Public Library and University of San Diego Copley Library are teaming up once more to bring to the City our annual Black History Month lecture series. This lecture will be held virtually over Zoom with a watch party at San Diego Central Library.
Heather McGhee's specialty is the American economy—and the mystery of why it often fails the American public. Join us for a thought-provoking evening as McGhee discusses the ramifications of racism and the ripple effect it has for everyone, not just people of color. She will address themes from her book The Sum of Us: How Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together. Learn how we as a people can move away from the idea that progress for some must come at the expense of others and how we can achieve great things working with one another.
Date | Monday, February 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
