Food is central to the holidays.
This Thanksgiving, Americans are expected to eat 46 million turkeys. Aside from that traditional dinner, many families have their own holiday meals, treats, desserts, cookies, side dishes and recipes that have been passed down over generations.
From latkes to tamales to black-eyed peas and ham, it just wouldn’t be the holidays for some families without these special foods.
Does your family have a special holiday food? How did the tradition get started? Has it been hard to keep up? Tell us about it.
Share your recipe with us, so we can share it with our listeners and use it as inspiration for a new series on Midday Edition about holiday foods.
