Homeless people with pets in need of services will have access to veterinary care at a mobile clinic outside Father Joe's Villages Friday.
The Helen Woodward Animal Center's Pets Without Walls program will be at the downtown social services provider from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The program brings pet supplies and animal health care to the homeless and launched in November.
Animal center officials say they've had great success offering the services at the downtown temporary bridge shelter. They offer microchipping, preventative care, vaccinations, flea and tick medication and pet food.
The program now also has a mobile clinic in order to offer spay/neuter procedures. The clinic vehicle has cages in which animals can rest before and after surgery.
