California billionaire Tom Steyer brought his campaign to impeach President Donald Trump to San Diego’s North County. He found a supportive audience Tuesday among the protestors outside Rep. Darrell Issa’s office.

At the moment, Issa is in Washington D.C., but his local office has become a focal point for Democratic protestors, who show up week after week. A handful of Republican demonstrators in support of Issa set up camp across the street, with placards opposing California's new gas tax.

Steyer addressed the crowd of anti-Issa protestors and cited Issa’s support of Trump’s efforts to repeal health care and cut taxes, to benefit corporations and the wealthy.

“We’re down here to say what he is voting for, advocating for, hurt his constituents,” Steyer said. “He is absolutely siding with the red state Republican rich people against the working people of California. It’s outrageous really.“

Steyer, who raised millions of dollars for Democrats Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama, has more recently spent millions of dollars on TV ads, urging people to sign a petition to impeach Trump. His campaign has reportedly collected more than a million signatures so far.

“What I know is, this president is a danger to the American people and I know the majority of Americans agree with me,” he said. "I know that all those people in Washington D.C., whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, know he’s unfit for office.”

Steyer said Trump has brought the country to the brink of nuclear war.

He also spoke positively about his own vision for the future.

“Darrell Issa is doing the wrong thing and Trump is doing the wrong thing, but it’s also that they’re not doing the right thing," Steyer said. “There are really great things that we can do as a country that are within our grasp, that will make this century better than any other time in American history. So it’s not just the rotten things they’re choosing to do, it’s that they’re not investing in American people, we’re not building a clean, sustainable America. There are things within our grasp that the American people can do together.”

Steyer was asked if he is considering a run for office.

“I don’t know,” he said.
