For over a decade the Zzymzzy Quartet has been transporting audiences back in time with its 1930’s era-inspired music. Inspired by Django Reinhardt and the American Songbook, the band has become an integral part of the swing-dance scene in San Diego.
On their new album, "Petite Fleur" musicians Beston Barnett, Matt Gill, Paul Hormick, and Pete Miesner demonstrate not only their mastery of the music, but also their love of playing it.
Recently the Zzymzzy Quartet stopped by KPBS to perform some songs and talk about the inspiration for their music.
The Zzymzzy Quartet will perform at Nate’s Garden Grill in City Heights on Dec 31 at 10 a.m.
