A brush fire that burned about 26 acres and prompted evacuations in a neighborhood north of Sweetwater Reservoir in Spring Valley was 80 percent contained on Thursday morning.
The fire prompted authorities to evacuate homes on Pointe Parkway, Ledgeside Street, California Waters Drive and Pleasant Waters Court, but the order was lifted Wednesday night, according to the state fire agency.
Medics took one firefighter to a hospital for treatment of a snakebite. Cal Fire officials later said he was "doing great.''
No other injuries were reported.

Evacuations prompted by the fire in Spring Valley had been lifted early Wednesday evening, Cal Fire said.
The Pointe Fire was holding at 15 acres and was 40 percent contained, and no structures had been damaged or destroyed, according to authorities.
Medics took one firefighter to a hospital for treatment of a snakebite, officials said. Late Wednesday evening, Cal Fire posted on Twitter that the firefighther was bitten by a rattlesnake but is "doing great." No other injuries were reported.

A fast-moving hillside brush fire threatened homes and prompted evacuations in a neighborhood north of Sweetwater Reservoir late Wednesday afternoon.
The fire erupted for unknown reasons shortly after 4 p.m. off the 2900 block of Pointe Parkway in Spring Valley, according to Cal Fire. Authorities cleared people out of homes along that road, as well as on California Waters Drive, Ledgeside Street and Pleasant Waters Court.
Ground crews and personnel aboard air tankers and water-dropping helicopters worked to subdue the flames, which blackened about 15 acres within an hour.
The Sheriff's Department has designated a temporary evacuation point at Monte Vista High School at 3230 Sweetwater Spring Blvd., Spring Valley 91977.
There were no immediate reports of structural damage or injuries.
