Jenny Bramer assumed the role of interim director of athletics at San Diego State University following the school's announcement on Monday of Jim Sterk's departure for the University of Missouri.
Sterk saw 50 SDSU teams advance to NCAA championships during his six-year tenure.
Bramer, a graduate of University of Oklahoma, began her career in SDSU in 2003 and was promoted to the No. 2 position in athletics in 2015.
She said she doesn’t foresee any major changes.
“I don’t know that I have some grand master plan," Bramer said. "But I don’t need to either because we already have great things in place.”
Bramer, who started her first full day on Tuesday, said she’s focused on preparing for this season.
“Summer is well over and we’re ready," she said. "We’re ready to go and get our student athletes prepared to compete in the next few weeks.”
The search for a permanent director of athletics is currently underway with no timeframe.
