A brush fire erupted off F Street near northbound Interstate 5 in Chula Vista Tuesday morning, slowing the morning commute in the area.
The fire broke out just after 6 a.m. in a grassy area near trolley tracks off F Street, fire dispatchers said.
A Sig Alert was issued as smoke and the firefighting effort affected traffic.
Just before 7 a.m., crews stopped the spread of the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
