Journey, America's favorite band, comes to public television with the story of how they found lead singer, Arnel Pineda, and their first concert in his homeland. Part one is an excerpt from the documentary "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey." Filmmaker Ramona S. Diaz narrows in on Arnel Pineda's personal narrative throughout the film, encompassing his upbringing as an orphan in the Philippines, through his emotional struggles and trauma. He eventually found a path to happiness, and stardom, through song.
Co-founding member and lead guitarist Neal Schon, in a long search for a new lead singer, discovered Pineda on YouTube. On March 14, 2009, Journey (Schon, Pineda, co-founder and bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan Cain and drummer Deen Castronovo,) returned to Pineda's homeland and introduced him as their new lead singer to a crowd of nearly 30,000 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
Part two includes some of your favorite Journey songs from "Live In Manila," the concert film, including "Faithfully," "Anyway You Want It," and the seminal "Don't Stop Believing."
