California state Assemblyman Tim Donnelly officially is running for governor. The Tea Party Republican made the announcement Tuesday in Los Angeles, exactly one year before the 2014 election.

Donnelly likely will face former Lt. Gov. Able Maldonado and former U.S. Treasury official Neel Kashkari in the contest for the Republican nomination. Both men are exploring the possibility of running.

Gov. Jerry Brown officially has not said whether he’ll run for re-election, but it’s widely expected he will.

A big decision awaits some voters this April as the race for San Diego County’s Supervisor District 1 seat heats up. Are you ready to vote? Check out the KPBS Voter Hub to learn about the candidates, the key issues the board is facing and how you can make your voice heard.
