The Coast Guard was immediately notified after an unsuccessful attempt by the unit to locate the missing Sailor. A joint search effort led by the Coast Guard continues... and includes the Navy and Honolulu Fire Department.

Capt. Terry Seelig of the Honolulu Fire Department told Honolulu television station KHON-TV:

"We're all doing the best we can to try and scour the area and we're all holding onto hope that we can find him."

As of Thursday, the Navy was in the process of notifying the missing SEAL's family.
