The USS Midway was the longest serving aircraft carrier in U.S. Navy history. Throughout its 47 years of service from the end of World War II through the Cold War and Desert Storm, the Midway was home to 225,000 people. For more than two years, the decommissioned carrier has been serving the community as an interactive museum on San Diego Bay.Nearly a million and a half visitors have toured the Midway.
